Story of My Wine: Ser Amerigo 2009
La Marchesi Gondi - Tenuta Bossi wins another award. We received a preview from Storyofmywine.com., our Rosso Colli Toscana Centrale IGT Ser Amerigo 2009 was awarded with the Bronze medal taking 89/100 points.
Ser Amerigo is a feminine, seductive and modern wine made from a blend of allochthonous and indigenous grape varieties; 40% Merlot, 40% Sangiovese and 20% Colorino
Colour: bright ruby red with garnet reflections. Nose: complex, it shows hints of fruit jam, cinchona and rhubarb, in particular plum and cherry, which open in subsequent notes of undergrowth, tobacco. Taste: great personality, has a refined tannic texture and a lively flavor that shows a great balance, softened by a generous fruity embrace, the closure is balsamic and spicy.
This wine is therefore composed of two souls. In fact, the nose has the fruity and sweet notes typical of Merlot, but in the mouth comes out the persistence and strength of Sangiovese, typical of the Chianti Rufina territory.
